August 2014 Details
Later Weekday Service on 15 Routes Weekday service until 11:00 p.m. on most routes.
New Saturday Service on 18 Routes New or extended Saturday service on 18 routes.
New Weekday Evening Service on 4 Routes New weekday evening service on Routes 3, 13, 14, and 20.
New Route 46 Route 46 started serving residents of Ypsilanti in August, 2014 with hourly service 7 days a week.
Expanded A-Ride Service A-Ride service hours extended on weekdays until 11:45 p.m. and Saturdays until 7:45 p.m. Service area expanded to include area 3/4 mile around new Route 46.

Sustainability Commitment

TheRide achieved Gold Status for sustainability from the American Public Transit Association.


This distinctive recognition is a result of our dedication to sustainability policy. TheRide’s focused efforts have reduced its main facility’s water usage by 43% and electricity usage by 18%. As of the award date, TheRide has invested in a fleet that includes over 50% clean diesel hybrid-electric buses, eco-conscious facilities, and extensive recycling.


Transit plays an essential role in the community and has direct and lasting impacts on livability, environmental quality, resilience, and economic prosperity.


TheRide’s primary role in climate action and sustainability efforts is offering high quality transportation options in an environmentally-responsible manner.
